Gazette Memo Sept 21-25

Thank you to all the parents who were able to make it out to Open House last week. It was great seeing some of you again and meeting others of you for the first time.
I just wanted to let you know that interim reports will be going home this Friday! I can’t believe a half a semester has already passed.

Here is what we’ll be working on this week:

Social Studies- We have been discussing responsibilities of citizens and will have a test on Wednesday (multiple choice).

Math- We are still working on QISWA for problem solving, subtraction, and multiplication. We will begin permutations and combinations this week.

Reading- Guided Reading groups begin this week. I can’t wait to see what everyone can do independently during reading time.

Writing- Last week, the class created monsters using pattern blocks and they will begin writing a story (problem/solution) about their personalized creation.

I am in the process of creating a blog for my students and parents. In case your child loses their spelling words, assignment sheet, etc, you will be able to look it up on there. I will also be able to post pictures during projects and update you on what we are up to!!! Here is the web address:
Remember, I am still trying to get it in good condition, but please feel free to leave me a comment of anything you would like to see on the site. This is another way we can stay in touch!
